2011 has seen a lot of action and historic events occur inside a DPW ring, and we are only halfway through the year! We've seen the completion of the DPW Tag Team Championship Tournament with a superb final seeing Mad Man Manson and Martin Kirby defeat El Ligero and Bingo Ballance. We've looked on as the gigantic Colossus Kennedy upended Cameron Kraze to claim the DPW Championship and has looked dominant ever since. We've witnessed the arrival of a new General Manager in Ricc Dombrowksi, and just last month we saw the resumption of CJ Bank's submission streak, defeating Mikey Whiplash in one of the greatest matches in DPW's 3 year plus history.
Our next event, is traditionally one of the biggest and most significant in the company's calender, August Anarchy. The summertime spectacular has seen CJ Banks collide with TNA star Douglas Williams for the DPW Championship, the unholy alliance of Kid Kash and Dragon Aisu in one of the most violent and profanity-laden doubles affairs in history, Kris Travis finally get the better of GM Christopher Brammer to win the position of General Manager, and CJ Banks become the first ever 2-time Champion in DPW.
This coming August promises to be no different to the previous 2 chapters in terms of significance, however DPW prides itself on being honest with it's fans, and therefore have an unfortunate announcement to make regarding it's main event. Due to a scheduling conflict with several dates in Germany, the current reigning DPW Champion Colossus Kennedy will NOT be appearing at the August event. Kennedy, who was scheduled to defend the title against Joey Hayes, will continue to hold the DPW Championship, and will return to action at our next event.
With that announcement out of the way, DPW can now announce our replacement main event, and it's certainly a historic one! Over the course of 2011, DPW has featured some big debuts, including Mikey Whiplash, Dean Allmark, Dave Mastiff and Jack Gallagher. At August Anarchy 2011, DPW brings you one of the most anticipated debuts we've ever had, as on August 6th, Rockstar Spud will be in the house! One of the most outrageous, arrogant and colourful characters in British wrestling, the pintsize rocker will be making his first ever appearance in a DPW ring. Originally scheduled to debut in December 2009 against El Ligero, a neck injury put Spud on the shelf, but he's announced that when he finally debuts on August 6th, he'll more than make up for the wait for 'his public'.
On August 6th, standing across the ring will be one of the most popular men in DPW, but one that has had a rough time of things lately, Cameron Kraze. 2011 has been somewhat of a struggle for Kraze, as he lost the DPW Championship at 3 Years Old, and has suffered losses to Joey Hayes in a Number 1 Contenders match, and a submission loss to Jack Gallagher last month. Kraze will certainly be looking to make August Anarchy 2011 his own personal turning point.
